The ARXM3 series thermal-magnetic molded case circuit breakers are engineered to meet the highest performance standards under severe operations. While standard manufacturers limit testing to bare minimum parameters, Acereare focuses on the metallurgical integrity of the dynamic contact assemblies. Our contact tips utilize premium Silver-Nickel (AgNi) and Silver-Tin Oxide (AgSnO2) alloys, preventing contact welding during high short-circuit faults up to 200kA.

Every ARXM3 factory production run integrates precision-stamped bimetallic strips for reliable time-delayed thermal protection. Our bimetal elements are calibrated automatically on computer-controlled injection lines to eliminate human assembly tolerance errors, ensuring standard-compliant trip profiles across the entire current range (from 63A to 800A).

The magnetic trip unit is equipped with an optimized electromagnetic coil that responds instantaneously to short circuits. This rapid actuation drives the contact arm to open within milliseconds, forcing the electrical arc into high-efficiency arc chutes lined with cooling grids. This design maintains low transient voltages and maximizes the longevity of your main distribution panels.

What is the difference between Icu and Ics for the ARXM3 series MCCB, and why does it matter?

Icu (Ultimate Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity) is the maximum fault current that the circuit breaker can safely interrupt without causing terminal destruction. Ics (Service Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity) defines the fault current level at which the breaker can successfully clear a fault and remain operational. For high-end applications, an Ics value equal to 100% of Icu ensures the breaker does not require replacement after handling severe faults, reducing system downtime and replacement costs.

How does high-altitude derating affect MCCB selection, and what are the correction factors?

At elevations above 2000 meters, low air density decreases the convective cooling capacity, causing temperature rises. In addition, the reduced dielectric strength of air lowers the insulation performance. To compensate for these variables, both the rated operational voltage (Ue) and the rated current (In) must be derated. At 3000m, the current derating coefficient is typically 0.96, and the voltage is derated to 0.88. Our engineers provide specific high-altitude adjustment curves based on your installation height.

When should I choose a thermal-magnetic trip unit over an electronic (LSIG) trip unit?

Thermal-magnetic trip units (like the standard ARXM3) are highly reliable, economical, and immune to electromagnetic interference, making them ideal for commercial buildings, standard motors, and low-voltage distribution lines. Electronic trip units (like the ARM3E or ARM5E) integrate microprocessors to provide adjustable Long-time, Short-time, Instantaneous, and Ground-fault protection (LSIG). Choose electronic models when precise zone coordination, remote power monitoring, and custom current curve profiles are required.

What is the significance of the 3-Pole (3P) versus 4-Pole (4P) configuration for the ARXM3?

A 3-pole MCCB is used in three-phase balanced systems where a neutral wire is not distributed or does not require isolation. A 4-pole MCCB features a dedicated neutral pole (N). It is essential in systems with unbalanced loads or significant harmonics, where neutral current is present, or where system design mandates isolation of the neutral pole to prevent ground loop currents during maintenance.
