What is the difference between Icu and Ics in your high-capacity MCCBs?
Icu (Ultimate Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity) is the maximum fault current a circuit breaker can successfully interrupt, though the breaker may need to be replaced afterward. Ics (Service Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity) represents the maximum current the breaker can interrupt and still remain operational. For our premium MCCB lines, we design for Ics = 100% Icu, ensuring the breaker can safely handle repeated fault conditions without structural damage.
How do you adjust circuit breaker ratings for high-altitude environments?
At altitudes above 2000 meters, low air density reduces heat dissipation and dielectric strength. To compensate, we apply a high-altitude derating factor. This adjusts the maximum rated insulation voltage (Ui), impulse withstand voltage (Uimp), and operational current (Ie). We provide detailed derating tables to help you select the correct breaker size for mountain and highland sites.
